" This is a quote from Steve Martin in the movie "The Jerk" in which he plays a nouveau riche business man who obviously had no clue on fine vintage wine. However this remark could have been heard in the venue of an auction house where new replica watch brands are experiencing a growing interest from collectors who used to only go for the established brands such as replica audemars piguet , replica patek philippe and replica cartier . We all know that Steve Mc Queen means money when his replica watches and other memorabilia go under the hammer, this also accounts for other replica watches once worn by important world leaders, politicians and actors. Early versions from this collection are popping up at auctions and I think they should be bought now, as the interest in Roger Dubuis under the ownership of Richemont is rapidly growing. The Roger Dubuis Excalibur enjoys iconic status today and already in 2008 Antiquorum sold this Excalibur Double Tourbillon in white gold for? CHF 102. 000. Maybe it is time to look out for the early versions when offered at auctions. Racing-refined constructionThe Nelson Piquet case design takes its cues from recent developments in motorsport technology, with the six-screw, stainless steel case incorporating a high-tech, carbon-fibre lower bezel. Carbon fibre is also used to form the inserts for the chronograph pushers at 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock. To enhance grip, the pushers have been engraved with a chequered motif reminiscent of the iconic Formula One finish-line flag that Piquet took in his 23 F1 grand prix victories.
